Transition Badge Downbeat Snare Drum 14x4" Oyster Black Pearl OBP

In Stock / 1

Ludwig 14 x 4" Downbeat piccolo snare drum in original Oyster Black Pearl wrap. Keystone Chicago Transition badge with no serial number dates this drum to 1958 to the early 60s. Classic 3 ply construction with white painted interior and rerings. Interior date stamp says Nov 3... but the rest is lost to history. 8 piccolo lugs. Chrome over brass triple flanged hoops. Small Round Knob muffler. P84 strainer with WFL P32 butt. Incredible drum!
This drum is in Good to Very Good Condition. There are normal signs of wear and use for its age, but nothing that affects its function or playability. The bearing edges are clean and in good condition. There is a small bit of bubbling of the white paint on the interior of the shell, but it appears to have come that way from the factory. The badge is tight with no play. The wrap is tight with some discoloration, though no bubbling, cracks, or peeling. There are some small nicks, scratches, and scuffs, but nothing that is visible from more than a foot or two away. The chrome is shiny with very light pitting and little to no rust. There are some scuffs and scratches on the hoops, but minimal oxidation. There is one small crack on the inside of the eyelet of the top hoop at the  5 o'clock position (see photos). It tunes up well with no issues. The original snare wires are  a little bent and missing one strand. A few tension rods have been replaced. All parts are in working order.
